A painting I love; especially next to Degas’s Orchestra Pit from years earlier.

American art lagged for decades behind French painting but still something about it holds the soul of this country.

There’s so much hope in American painting the way I see it- only here could Winslow Homer have painted Life Line or Georgia O’Keefe painted the New York City skyscrapers of the early part of the century soaring up into the sky with such excitement- such emotion.

Yeah. I love American art.
